A Day in Miami Beach with the awesome Natalia
Welcome to Miami Beach! Home to the Cuban sandwich, delicious mojitos, beautiful beaches, sexy bikinis, historic monuments and that’s just to name a few. Miami is known to attract travelers from all over the world not only because of our clear blue beaches and popular nightlife, although that’s enough for most, but they come to experience delicious foods, cultured sub-cities, colorful art districts, high end shopping, constant entertainment and so much more.
With just one day to spend in one of the most beautiful cultured cities in the world. Here is your guide to get the best Miami Beach experience in just 24 hours.
Miami Beach is a one-stop shop for all of your Miami needs. From the beach, amazing food, great shopping and entertainment, your 24 hours will quickly breeze by. Miami Beach is home to the largest Art Deco Architecture. With more than 800 buildings on Collins Avenue, Washington Avenue, Ocean Drive, Flamingo Park and Museum, this makes Miami Beach its largest collection of its type in the entire world.
Art Deco Tours provides amazing walking tours that educate you on Miami Beach’s history while you sip on some of Miami’s most famous cocktails like a SpeakEasy at The Essex House Hotel
Or, my fav, a yummy Mojito at The Winter Haven.
Of course you can’t come to Miami Beach and not go to the beach. Fun Fact, Miami Beach is a man made Island, including the beach. Who would have guessed that from a desolated coconut grove plantation Miami would have one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Grab your drink, beach towel, lay back and enjoy!
After some fun in the sun, take a scenic walk on Ocean Drive full of restaurants, bars, entertainment and history. Admire the strip and maybe even stop by and check out the beautiful Versace Mansion formerly owned by Italian designer Gianni Versace. This gorgeous hotel is at the center of the Art Deco district that includes an amazing pool and restaurant.
Now, I know what you’re thinking… All of this fun is going to work up an appetite! Lucky for you, Miami Beach has a wide variety of food from all over the world, Spanish, Japanese, America, Haitian, Italian and all sorts of fusion food. You can find food for any palette and any budget. Some of my favorites places to dine are Larios on the Beach. This restaurant is owned by famous Hispanic artist, Gloria Estefan and brings you authentic Hispanic style food. A must try is the beef ropa vieja, plantain chips and garlic mojo sauce.
I also love The Tides Hotel, with so much history and beautiful design you can grab a bite to eat while you take in the beautiful interior design curate by Kelly Wearstler, and learn about how the hotel use to have a private gambling room that hosted guest like Frank Sentara and Marilyn Monroe. Fun fact: This hotel was featured in the movie Ace Ventura Pet Detective in 1994. Look familiar?
After powering up with some of Miami Beach’s best cuisine, a nice walk through Lincoln Rode is a must. Walk off that food while shopping some of your favorite shops like Urban Outfitters, H&M, Forever21, Guess, Apple and much more. More amazing food and even some delicious dessert spots also accompany this strip of stores. Lincoln Road also host Farmers Markets on Sundays bringing our local vendor who provide organic and health conscious products like Shea Butter, fruits, ceviche and more.
After a fun filled day of food, history learning, laying by the beach and shopping, its time to wine down a relax, maybe even enjoy a nice roof top view and watch the sunset while sipping some wine. The Clevanders is the spot for you! Enjoy music, entertainment and even a roof stop view overlooking the city and the ocean. The perfect spot to watch the sunset and reflect on an amazing day.
That’s a wrap folks! With just 24 hours and my Day in Miami Beach guide, there is no way you can’t conquer and get the most out of your day in one of the most beautiful cities in the world! From the beach, to delicious food and drinks, entertainment and all the history to learn, you will not be disappointed!
